Do you have any specials?

Specials are found on the website under the Special Offers tab.

Do you allow walk-ins?

No. All trail rides and other events must be reserved in advance in order to ensure that our staff are prepared for your arrival.

What if I’ve never ridden a horse before?

No problem! Experience isn’t necessary to participate in our events. Our trail guides will show you the ropes (and the reins) before we begin.

What are your age requirements for riders?

Anyone 5 or older may ride by themselves. Children who are younger, or are uncomfortable riding alone, will be put on a horse with a trail guide so that the parent can concentrate on their own horse.

What is the weight limit for riders?

According to ranch owner Gay Bingham, the horses can handle riders who weigh up to around 300 pounds. If you have a specific question about a potential rider’s weight, please contact us directly.

What clothing do you recommend that I wear for my ride?

Aside from dressing appropriately for the weather conditions, our main recommendations are:

  1. Long pants or jeans
  2. Sturdy shoes
  3. A hat or visor
Do you provide helmets for young riders?

Our trail rides are all conducted at a walk, and the horses have been doing these rides for years, so they’re all pretty relaxed. Helmets are not provided or needed for our rides but feel free to bring one if you wish.

Why are you only offering a few morning rides in the summer?

We want the ride to be as comfortable as possible for both you and our beautiful horses, so we tend to shy away from mid-day rides in the summer heat. However, if the heat doesn’t bother you, or you can’t do a morning ride for some other reason, feel free to contact us directly to ask about a different ride time. We can’t promise to accommodate every request, but we’re happy to discuss other options!

What weather conditions will lead you to cancel a ride?

We’re Texas ranchers, so there isn’t much that keeps us from doing our job. However, we want your ride to be as comfortable as possible. We’ll typically go ahead with a ride if there’s light rain or mist, but will cancel a ride for heavy rain and thunderstorms (i.e. a severe weather system that’s currently over the ranch, or about to pass over it in the near future, not in some other part of the metroplex). Temperature-wise, we won’t do a ride if it drops below 45 degrees (Fahrenheit).

Because weather forecasts frequently change (sometimes drastically), won’t make a cancellation decision sooner than the day before a ride. In most cases, we’ll look at the forecast in the morning, and decide then if we need to cancel or move the rides for that day. If so, we’ll reach out to you as soon as we can.

What if I don’t want to ride at a walking pace? Can I ride faster?

We don’t currently have any advanced ride options and don’t have plans for adding such rides, though those plans may change. If you have riding experience and wish to ride faster, please contact the ranch to ask about making special arrangements. We can’t guarantee anything, but it can’t hurt to ask!

Registration

I’m trying to register, but it says I entered the wrong code. What does that mean?

That message refers to the security code at the bottom of the registration form. It’s case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed. Here are some tips:

  1. Make sure that you’re entering the code into the correct field, which is the space immediately below the code image
  2. Ignore the faded background characters. Only enter the stronger foreground characters.
  3. There should be no spaces between the characters.
  4. If you’re on a mobile device, remember that some devices default to capitalizing the first letter of anything you type. You may need to manually uncapitalize the first character while entering the security code if the first character of the displayed code is not a capital letter.
When do I need to pay for my trail ride?

All trail ride fees must be paid by the time your scheduled ride begins. We accept payments via PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and CAshApp, as well as cash, check, or credit/debit card.
